Terms & Conditions of Rental AthensGoCars Rent a Car Welcome to AthensGoCars Rent a Car! Thank you for trusting us for your transportation and travel needs. Our goal is to provide you with a safe, comfortable, and pleasant driving experience, always with respect for you and the terms that ensure a fair and responsible cooperation. The following terms define the rules for the use and rental of vehicles from AthensGoCars Rent a Car. By completing a booking or using our services, you fully accept the terms below.
1. Rental Requirements Driver’s Age The driver must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license for at least 1 year. For certain vehicle categories, a minimum age of 23 years may be required. Drivers aged 19–20 with a full driver’s license for at least 12 months may rent a vehicle with an additional daily charge of €20. Driver’s License • For EU residents, a valid European driving license is required. • For non-EU residents, a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) is required. ID or Passport The renter must present a valid ID card or passport. Credit/Debit Card A valid credit or debit card in the main driver’s name is required for security and deposit purposes. A security deposit pre-authorization may be applied. Additional Drivers Up to two additional drivers can be registered, provided they meet the same requirements as the main driver. Driving by an unregistered driver is strictly prohibited and voids all insurance coverage. Vehicle Use The vehicle must be used only for legal purposes, within Greece, and by registered drivers only. It is forbidden to participate in races, tow other vehicles, drive off-road, or engage in any action that may cause damage.
2. Vehicle Pickup & Return Pickup Pickup is carried out at the agreed date, time, and location. Upon pickup, the renter must: • Sign the rental agreement. • Present the required documents. • Inspect the vehicle’s condition together with an AthensGoCars representative. Any existing damage is recorded in writing on the delivery form. Return The vehicle must be returned: • At the agreed location and time. • In the same condition. • With the same fuel level. A final inspection and confirmation signature are required upon return. Late Returns: • Low/Mid Season: 2-hour grace period. • High Season: 20-minute grace period. After that, an extra day of rental is charged.
Early Vehicle Return: In the event that the vehicle is returned earlier than the date and time specified in this rental agreement, please note that no refund will be provided for the remaining period of the rental. The total cost of the booking remains non-refundable and unchanged. 3. Fuel Policy The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup. If returned with less fuel: • The renter will be charged for the missing fuel plus a €15 refueling service fee. No refund applies for extra fuel left in the tank.
4. Cleaning Policy & Car Wash Service All vehicles are delivered clean. • If returned excessively dirty, a €60 + VAT cleaning fee applies. • In case of deep/biological cleaning, the fee will be determined accordingly. ? Smoking is prohibited – a €80 fine applies for violations.
5. Ferry Transport Ferry transport is allowed only with written authorization from the company (charge: €25 per route). Insurance coverage is not valid during ferry transport without explicit approval.
6. Insurance Packages Basic Insurance Package All vehicles include standard third-party liability coverage. Full Damage Waiver (F.D.W.) – Optional Available at an additional cost, includes: • Full coverage (driver’s liability €500 + VAT) • Third-party liability • Fire, theft & glass coverage • Tire insurance (zero liability) Not Covered: (1) Driving under the influence (2) Unregistered driver (3) Failure to notify the police (4) Illegal parking (5) Damage to the underbody, tires, mirrors, etc. (6) Wrong fuel (7) Off-road driving (8) Intentional or negligent damage (9) Damage outside rental period (10) Loss of personal belongings (11) Damage to accessories (12) Theft due to negligence

8. Traffic Fines & Violations The renter is fully responsible for all traffic violations and fines, even if they are issued after the rental period. The company may charge the fine amount plus €25 administrative fee. If license plates are confiscated, the renter is liable for the entire immobilization period.
9. Accident & Reporting Obligation In case of an accident: • Notify the police and AthensGoCars immediately. • Complete an accident report. • Collect the other driver’s details. • Take photos of the scene. Failure to follow these steps voids insurance coverage.
10. Booking Procedure Bookings can be made: • Via the website: www.athensgocars.gr • By phone or email • Through authorized partners Requirements: • Provide accurate personal details. • Confirm via email or SMS. The company reserves the right to cancel any booking made with false information.
11. Minimum Rental Duration Minimum rental period: 1 day (24 hours). Delays exceeding 60 minutes are charged as an additional rental day.
12. Payment Methods • Credit/Debit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro) • Cash (up to €500) • Bank transfer A valid credit card in the main driver’s name is required.
13. No-Show Policy • Booking is canceled after 3 hours of no-show. • Deposits are non-refundable. • The vehicle may be rented to another customer.
14. Non-Delivery by the Company In rare cases (e.g., mechanical failure): • A vehicle of the same or higher category will be provided. • If no replacement is available, a full refund will be issued without further obligation.
15. Vehicle Category Availability Reservations refer to vehicle categories, not specific models or colors. The company may provide a vehicle of the same or higher category at no extra charge.
16. Roadside Assistance, Accident & Vehicle Replacement In case of a breakdown: • Contact AthensGoCars immediately. • 24/7 roadside assistance is available throughout Greece. Services include towing, tire replacement, battery jump-start, and fuel delivery. Cases caused by negligence (e.g., wrong fuel, leaving lights on) are not covered.
